X Games League Unveils Inaugural Winter Season Schedule
The X Games League has revealed its inaugural winter season schedule, which includes three events taking place in North America and Europe. This announcement coincides with the upcoming winter league draft set for September 16 in Los Angeles.
The season will kick off from January 29 to 31 at Buttermilk in Aspen, Colorado, followed by an event in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, from February 19 to 21. The final stop will be in Ruka, Finland, from April 9 to 11. Four franchises—XC Golden State, XC New York, XC Park City, and XC Whistler—will compete throughout the season, with rosters finalized during the draft, where 40 out of over 100 approved athletes will be selected.
Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games, highlighted that the league structure enhances the significance of each athlete's performance by contributing to a team score, fostering rivalries and a championship race throughout the season. The general managers for the franchises have been appointed, with notable figures such as Jonny Moseley and Dave Sypniewski leading the teams.
