Xavier Legette Carted Off Field with Injury During Practice

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Xavier Legette, a first-round draft pick for the Carolina Panthers in 2024, was carted off the field on Tuesday due to a stinger sustained while attempting a leaping catch in the end zone.

Stingers affect the nerves in the upper arm, neck, or shoulder, often causing a burning sensation. While many stingers resolve quickly, some symptoms may persist for weeks or months. Panthers coach Dave Canales confirmed that Legette does not have a concussion and will be evaluated further in the coming days.

Legette will miss the Panthers' pre-season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. He fell hard after making a catch and was seen moving his fingers before being taken off the field. The Panthers are already dealing with the loss of another wide receiver, Chris Brazzell, who is out for the season due to a torn LCL. Legette had previously recorded 35 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns last season.
