Xavier Worthy Hints at Patrick Mahomes' Availability for Week 1
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is reportedly on track to play in the team's Week 1 game against the Denver Broncos on September 14. Although neither Mahomes nor head coach Andy Reid has officially confirmed his status, Mahomes has shown significant recovery from a torn ACL and LCL sustained in December 2025.
During a press conference, Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy suggested that Mahomes is ready to return, stating that he is back and not just potentially available. Worthy noted that Mahomes was fully cleared for training camp and has not faced any setbacks that would hinder his participation in the season opener.
Despite not playing in any preseason games, Mahomes has been working closely with teammates to prepare for the upcoming match. Reid mentioned that Mahomes will continue to practice, indicating a positive outlook for his involvement in the game against Denver.
