Yamaha Responds to Quartararo's Criticism Amid Tensions
Yamaha management has reacted to Fabio Quartararo's recent criticisms and his intention to cease support for the team in MotoGP, following a difficult weekend at Aragon.
The relationship between Quartararo and Yamaha has become increasingly strained, particularly after his poor performance at the race. Quartararo expressed frustration over being treated like a test rider and indicated he would not assist in developing the 2027 bike due to personal reasons. He also mentioned his disappointment with Yamaha's decision to switch to a V4 engine, which he opposed.
Yamaha's executive director, Paolo Pavesio, noted Quartararo's lack of objectivity regarding the effectiveness of new parts and highlighted the company's efforts to improve. As the team prepares for an upcoming test at the Red Bull Ring, Yamaha plans to focus on riders who will remain with the team, suggesting that Quartararo's involvement may be limited.
