Yankees Activate Ryan McMahon and Add John Schreiber

The New York Yankees have reinstated third baseman Ryan McMahon from the 10-day injured list as of Tuesday, following a brief rehabilitation assignment.

McMahon had been sidelined since August 21 due to a left thumb sprain. In addition, the Yankees added right-handed pitcher John Schreiber to their active roster after selecting him off waivers from Kansas City on Monday. No corresponding roster moves were necessary, as MLB rosters expanded to 28 players on the same day.

This season, McMahon has played 106 games, recording a batting average of .216 with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs. He previously spent time on the injured list this year due to a throat infection. Over his career, he has a .237 batting average with 154 home runs and 502 RBIs across 1,170 games with the Colorado Rockies and the Yankees. Schreiber, who has a 3.65 ERA in 55 relief appearances this season, has a career record of 16-15 with 13 saves in 327 games.
