Yankees Activate Top Prospect Carlos Lagrange from Injured List
The New York Yankees, already secured a postseason spot, faced the Minnesota Twins in their series finale on Wednesday. They had previously won the first two games of the series and were focused on their magic number of six for the top American League Wild Card position.
In a significant move, the Yankees activated Carlos Lagrange, their second-ranked pitching prospect, from the Triple-A injured list. This decision follows a 10-week absence due to a capsular sprain in his throwing arm, which had threatened his season. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders confirmed his return, alongside a development-list assignment for Carson Coleman.
Despite his activation, the Yankees have stated that a September call-up is not planned, as the priority is for Lagrange to accumulate innings before the minor-league season concludes. Lagrange last pitched on June 28, and after a conservative recovery approach, he is now expected to continue his development in the minors.
