Yankees Adjust Batting Order Ahead of Subway Series Game

The New York Yankees have modified their batting order as they prepare for the second game of a three-game Subway Series against the Mets. Rookie shortstop George Lombard Jr. has been moved from sixth to seventh in the lineup.

Lombard, who has been starting at shortstop since his call-up from Triple-A on August 4, has played in 30 games, recording 23 hits, three home runs, and 11 RBIs. The Yankees entered Saturday's game with a four-game winning streak and an 85-62 record, trailing the Tampa Bay Rays by three games.

Manager Aaron Boone also adjusted other positions, placing Aaron Judge in the second spot as designated hitter and Paul Goldschmidt in the leadoff position. Despite some challenges, including a stretch of errors and a minor knee issue, Lombard has shown resilience and potential as a player.
