Yankees Anticipate Further Roster Changes Following Trade

The New York Yankees have been actively reshaping their roster ahead of the MLB trade deadline, but recent trades have created a gap in their pitching staff.

Joel Sherman from the New York Post reported that the Yankees traded three relief pitchers—Camilo Doval, Jake Bird, and Yovanny Cruz—leaving them in need of additional bullpen support before the deadline closes on Monday at 6 p.m.

Doval was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates, while Bird and Cruz were part of a larger deal with the Washington Nationals for first baseman Luis García Jr. Although García adds offensive strength, the loss of these pitchers has left the Yankees with fewer options in the bullpen as they head into a crucial part of the season.

The Yankees are now under pressure to find replacements to ensure their high-leverage pitchers remain effective as they approach the stretch run. The front office is considering both internal promotions and external acquisitions to bolster their relief depth.
