Yankees Consider Signing Seiya Suzuki to Support Aaron Judge
The New York Yankees are encouraged to target free-agent outfielder Seiya Suzuki this offseason to bolster their lineup and provide better support for Aaron Judge. This recommendation comes from an analysis by Stephen Parello of Yanks Go Yard.
Judge, who is a three-time American League MVP, faced a challenging 2026 season due to injuries, limiting him to 66 games where he recorded 18 home runs and 41 RBIs. The Yankees concluded the season with a 93-68 record but were eliminated in the AL Division Series by the Tampa Bay Rays, with Judge unable to participate due to being left off the roster.
Parello suggests that adding Suzuki could allow for more designated-hitter opportunities for Judge or even a part-time role at first base, potentially extending his career. Suzuki, who had a successful season with the Chicago Cubs, posted a .270 batting average with 26 home runs and 86 RBIs. His defensive skills have also improved, making him a valuable asset. Although the Yankees have not yet been directly linked to Suzuki, the move could align with their goal of enhancing their competitiveness in the upcoming season.
