Yankees Host George Costanza Bobblehead Giveaway Amid Rainy Weather
The New York Yankees held their annual George Costanza bobblehead giveaway on Thursday, attracting fans to Yankee Stadium despite rainy conditions. The event began hours before the scheduled game against the Houston Astros, which was delayed due to weather.
Fans, including Sam Podell from Poughkeepsie, lined up early to secure one of the limited 18,000 bobbleheads depicting Costanza in a Yankees jacket, inspired by the 'Seinfeld' episode titled 'The Calzone.' This marks the third consecutive year the Yankees have featured a Costanza-themed bobblehead, which has become a highly anticipated promotion.
The Yankees also celebrated the event with special food items, including George's Eggplant Calzone, referencing the character's antics in the show. The demand for the bobbleheads was high, with resale prices reaching up to $250 prior to the event. Yankees officials noted that the limited quantity enhances the collectibility of the items.
