Yankees Manager Aaron Boone Ejected Over Controversial Call

During a recent game against the Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected after disputing a controversial check-swing call in the 10th inning. The Yankees secured a 6-3 victory, but the incident highlighted Boone's ongoing frustrations with umpiring decisions.

The situation arose when Angels player Grissom faced Yankees pitcher Michael Fulmer. After a 1-2 count, Grissom swung at a pitch that Boone believed should have been ruled strike three. However, first-base umpire Junior Valentine called it a check swing, prompting Boone to argue on the field.

This ejection marked Boone's 50th career ejection, following a similar incident in August. In that case, he was tossed for arguing a strike call against Luis Garcia Jr. The Yankees also faced a setback with rookie shortstop George Lombard Jr., who is recovering from knee inflammation but is expected to return for their upcoming series against the San Diego Padres.
