Yankees Place Pitcher Brian Hendry on 60-Day Injured List, Ending Season

The New York Yankees have placed right-handed pitcher Brian Hendry on the 60-day injured list at Triple-A, marking the end of his 2026 season. This decision was announced by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the Yankees' top minor league affiliate.

Hendry, who is 26 years old, had previously been on the 7-day injured list before this transfer. A 60-day placement typically indicates that a player will miss the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. The Yankees are currently preparing for a series against the Los Angeles Angels after recently winning three out of four games against the Boston Red Sox.

This setback follows Hendry's return to the mound this season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2022 and a second procedure in 2024. He had been working his way back through various minor league levels, posting a 1-0 record with a 3.00 ERA in 14 appearances. The transfer to the 60-day list allows the RailRiders to adjust their roster as they approach the end of the season. Hendry is expected to return to pitching in 2027 after further recovery.
