Yankees Place Ryan Weathers on Injured List Following Injury
The New York Yankees continue to struggle with injuries as left-hander Ryan Weathers exited his start on Saturday due to an apparent injury. Following further imaging, the team announced on Sunday that Weathers would be placed on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm flexor strain.
Manager Aaron Boone indicated that Weathers will be sidelined from throwing for 2-4 weeks, but there is optimism about his potential return this season. Weathers had been performing well, lowering his season ERA from 4.40 to 3.60 over his last seven starts since the All-Star Break.
This injury marks the second time in a week that a Yankees pitcher has been placed on the injured list, joining Max Fried. The Yankees will need to address the vacant spot in their rotation, possibly opting for a bullpen game or promoting a player from the minors as they aim for postseason success.
