Yankees to Call Up Veteran Reliever Justin Topa Ahead of Astros Series

Topa, a 35-year-old right-handed reliever, joined the Yankees organization on August 14 after a challenging season that included stints with three other teams. He has performed well in the minor leagues, posting a 1.75 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 25 2/3 innings at Triple-A.

His major league career began with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2020, and he has since played for several teams, including the Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners. Over his seven-year career, Topa has a 4.27 ERA and 141 strikeouts in 168 2/3 innings. The Yankees are looking to leverage his experience as they face a familiar opponent in the Astros.
