Yashvir Singh Aims for Improvement After CWG Bronze
Yashvir Singh, a bronze medallist at the Commonwealth Games, is working to enhance his javelin throwing skills with renewed confidence. He is preparing for the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meet scheduled at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
Under the guidance of his father and coach, Rai Singh, Yashvir is addressing technical aspects of his throws, including speed and blocking lag. Rai, who competed at the national level, previously threw around 75 meters and now coaches for the Railways.
Yashvir noted that his confidence surged after competing alongside renowned athletes like Neeraj Chopra at the Commonwealth Games, where he achieved a personal best throw of 85.41 meters. He aims to perform better at the upcoming meet, having previously finished sixth in a Bronze Level competition. He anticipates strong competition from international athletes, which he believes will motivate him further.
