Yimi García Undergoes Surgery, Ending Season

Yimi García, a reliever for the Toronto Blue Jays, recently underwent surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome, which has officially ended his season. This procedure took place last week, as confirmed by manager John Schneider.

The surgery was anticipated following García's diagnosis of the condition a few weeks prior. He had only participated in nine minor league games during unsuccessful rehabilitation attempts. García's previous season was also interrupted by surgery to address scar tissue in his elbow, which led to a lengthy recovery process.

At 36 years old, García is concluding a two-year, $15 million contract. His performance last year included 21 innings with a 3.86 ERA. Due to ongoing injuries, he was unable to secure a consistent role in the team's setup. As he approaches free agency, it is expected that he will receive offers primarily from minor league teams.
