York Knights to be Acquired by Local Business Group
York Knights have confirmed that a locally-based group has reached an agreement to take a majority share of the club. This group, led by York businessman David Dickson, will also assume control of the Women's Super League team, York Valkyrie.
The Knights, who were promoted to Super League for the first time last year, currently sit in 12th place with three games remaining in the season. They are two points ahead of Huddersfield and Bradford.
Neil Gulliver is set to become the chief executive following the completion of the deal, which is pending formal approval from the Rugby Football League. Outgoing owner Clint Goodchild expressed his appreciation for the friendships and memories he has made during his tenure.
