Yota Tsuji and Ryohei Oiwa have advanced to the semifinals of the NJPW G1 Climax 36 following their victories on the final night of A Block competition.

Both wrestlers concluded their round-robin matches with 12 points, securing their spots despite a three-way tie in the block. Oiwa's victory over Konosuke Takeshita in the main event was crucial for his advancement, while Tsuji's win against Jake Lee was aided by Great-O-Khan's interference, which eliminated Oleg Boltin from contention.

The B Block's final matches are scheduled for tomorrow, August 13, which will finalize the semifinal matchups for Tsuji and Oiwa. The semifinals are set to take place on Saturday, August 15, followed by the finals on Sunday, August 16. Tsuji's potential loss could allow the G1 winner to challenge for his IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
