Yuki Bhambri Claims Almaty Open Title, Reviving Season
Yuki Bhambri, India's top doubles player, achieved his first ATP Tour title of the 2026 season at the Almaty Open, teaming up with American Ryan Seggerman. This victory comes after a difficult summer where Bhambri won only one match in his last six tournaments.
In Almaty, Bhambri and Seggerman, seeded fourth, triumphed over the top-seeded Austrian duo of Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner with a score of 7-6 (3), 6-7 (1), 10-2. The pair excelled in crucial tie-breaks, winning five during the tournament.
Bhambri noted that despite earlier frustrations, he felt he deserved better results. His performance in Almaty marked a significant turnaround, with improved physical condition and confidence in high-pressure moments. He plans to continue competing, with his next event being an ATP Challenger in Seoul.
