Zach Johnson Wins Portugal Invitational on Champions Tour

Zach Johnson, a rookie on the PGA Champions Tour, claimed victory at the inaugural Portugal Invitational held at The Els Club Vilamoura in Algarve, Portugal. On Sunday, he recorded a 7-under-par 65, finishing the tournament with a total score of 19-under 197.

Johnson's performance included birdies on his first three holes, allowing him to edge out Stewart Cink, who was the second-round leader, by two strokes. Padraig Harrington finished in third place at 15-under, while Tim O'Neal took fourth at 13-under. Miguel Angel Jimenez and Mikael Lundberg tied for fifth at 12-under.

Cink struggled with a bogey on the second hole, which set him back, but he managed to recover with birdies on the fourth and fifth holes. Harrington briefly led the tournament but lost momentum after a bogey on the sixth hole. Johnson maintained his advantage with birdies on the seventh, ninth, and eleventh holes, ultimately sealing his win with a birdie on the final hole.
