Zak Butters Confirms Free Agency Decision from Port Adelaide

Zak Butters, a midfielder for Port Adelaide, has officially communicated his decision to exercise his free agency rights, although he has not yet disclosed his preferred destination.

Throughout the year, Butters has kept his plans private, with speculation suggesting a return to Victoria, where multiple clubs are competing for his services. He expressed that the decision to leave was challenging and involved considerable reflection.

Butters has indicated a desire to reconnect with family and friends, which influenced his choice. Geelong, Richmond, Collingwood, and the Western Bulldogs are among the clubs interested in signing him. Port Adelaide holds the right to match any offers due to his restricted free agency status, and if they choose not to, they may receive Pick 5 as compensation.
