Zak Butters Joins Western Bulldogs After Leaving Port Adelaide
Zak Butters has officially joined the Western Bulldogs after spending eight years with Port Adelaide. This move brings him closer to his hometown of Darley, located in regional Victoria.
Butters' transition was confirmed on Friday, and he will now play alongside notable teammates Marcus Bontempelli and Ed Richards, forming a strong midfield trio. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Butters expressed gratitude to Port Adelaide for the opportunities provided since being drafted in 2018.
During his time at Port Adelaide, Butters established himself as one of the league's top players, transitioning from a half-forward to a dynamic midfielder. He played 156 games, earning three All-Australian selections and three best-and-fairest awards. His new contract with the Bulldogs is a nine-year deal worth $18 million.
