Zak Butters to Choose New Number at Western Bulldogs

Zak Butters, a recent addition to the Western Bulldogs, has confirmed he will not wear his familiar No.9 jersey from Port Adelaide at his new club. Instead, he plans to select from available numbers.

Butters has stated he will not take over Ryley Sanders' locker, which currently holds the No.9 jersey. Sanders has worn this number since being drafted in 2023. Butters expressed respect for Sanders' journey and indicated he would prefer to choose a different number.

Potential options for Butters include No.1 and No.21, both of which were vacated by departing players Adam Treloar and Tom Liberatore. Other new recruits, including Jordon Butts, Finn Maginness, and Hudson O'Keeffe, are also looking for new numbers as they join the Bulldogs.
