Zak Crawley Extends Contract with Kent Following England Deal Non-Renewal
Zak Crawley has secured a one-year contract extension with Kent, ensuring he will remain with the county for the next summer season. This decision comes shortly after the England and Wales Cricket Board announced that his central contract would not be renewed.
The 28-year-old batsman has not played for England since the last Test of the previous winter's Ashes series and last participated in a one-day international in January. During the recent season, he contributed significantly to Kent's promotion back to Division One, scoring 608 runs in 12 County Championship matches.
Crawley expressed enthusiasm about returning to Division One and highlighted the importance of mentoring younger players in the team. He has made over 180 appearances for Kent since his debut in 2017. The director of cricket, Simon Cook, praised Crawley's talent and experience, noting his positive influence on the team's younger members.
