Zavion Thomas Scores 97-Yard Touchdown on First NFL Play

Bears rookie wide receiver Zavion Thomas made his NFL debut on Saturday after recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him for the first two preseason games.

On his very first play, Thomas caught a pass from quarterback Tyson Bagent and sprinted 97 yards for a touchdown. He concluded the game with five receptions totaling 140 yards, in addition to a 31-yard punt return and a 22-yard kickoff return.

Despite not practicing due to his injury, Thomas received support from veteran teammates, which helped him prepare for his on-field performance. He expressed satisfaction with his debut, noting that he had anticipated such a successful start. Thomas, who recorded a remarkable 4.28 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine, was selected by the Bears in the third round of the draft.
