Zhao Xintong Set to Become Second Chinese World Number One in Snooker

Zhao Xintong is poised to become the new world number one in snooker following a decisive 5-1 victory over Neil Robertson in the semi-finals of the Wuhan Open.

This achievement marks Zhao as the 13th player to hold the top ranking and the second from China, succeeding Judd Trump, whose reign ended after his defeat to Chang Bingyu in the quarter-finals.

At 29 years old, Zhao has secured six ranking titles and made impressive breaks during his match against Robertson. He will now compete against Xiao Guodong, who advanced by defeating Mark Williams 5-3. Additionally, seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan also reached the semi-finals after overcoming Mark Selby 5-3.
