Zverev Advances to US Open Final After Defeating Khachanov

Alexander Zverev has reached the final of the US Open after defeating Karen Khachanov with scores of 6-3, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (6) in the semifinals held on Friday in New York.

Zverev will compete for his second Grand Slam title on Sunday against either Ben Shelton or Frances Tiafoe, who are set to play later on Friday. Both Shelton and Tiafoe are seeking their first appearance in a major final, while the U.S. aims to find its first men's Grand Slam champion since Andy Roddick in 2003.

This year, Zverev has had a strong performance in Grand Slam tournaments, with a record of 24-2. He previously reached the final at Wimbledon and won his first Grand Slam title at the French Open. Zverev is looking to claim the title he narrowly missed in 2020 when he lost to Dominic Thiem after leading two sets to none.
